Balkh Chamber of Commerce and industries is always trying to attract domestic and outdoor investments in Afghanistan especially in the north. This time, BCCI held the First "Made is Pakistan” Exhibition for the development of border trade that was arranged by Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industries in Balkh province for 3 days.
The exhibition opened on 22nd April with participation of the Excellency of Mr. Atta Mohammad Noor, Governor of Balkh, Mr. Sayed Abrar Husain, Pakistan Ambassador in Afghanistan, Mr. Khurshid Barlas, Chairman of Regional Trade Coordination Committee of Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Khurshid Marwat Khan, Commercial Councilor of Pakistan, Mr. Ebrahim Khairandesh, Head of Balkh Provincial Council, and Mr. Arash Younosi, Chairman of BCCI.
The exhibition included totally 40 stalls, out of them 25 stalls belonged to Pakistan domestic products and 15 stalls related to Balkh province domestic products in sectors of food stuffs, construction, agriculture, health, handicrafts & etc.
Prior to the exhibition, a conference was held to launch the exhibition.
In the conference, First, Mr. Arash Yonousi started his welcome speech with providing information about the exhibition and business opportunities in Balkh such as relatively good security, local governance support for investments, and existence of Hairatan and Aqina borders that Connect South Asia to Central Asia.
Then, Mr. Atta Mohammad Noor, Governor of Balkh praised the exhibition and said that it is a valuable step in expansion and strengthening of trade relations between the two countries.
Afterwards, Mr. Sayed Abrar Husain, Pakistan Ambassador in Afghanistan talked about long term commercial relationship between the two countries and appreciated the Excellency of Mr. Atta Mohammad Noor for participating to the conference and opening of the exhibition.
At the end of the conference, Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between BCCI and Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industries. Based on this agreement, Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industries will establish a favorable relationship with BCCI and offered to allocate five stalls freely in every exhibition organized in Pakistan and outdoor.
